iPhone: How To Activate/Deactivate/Enable/Disable (Visual)VoiceMail Tap!

UPDATE 1: The (*5005*86*) way doesnt activate your visual vociemail! BEWARE! and if you have tried it before and want to DEACTIVATE voicemail tap, type: *5005*86*#
UPDATE 2: To activate your Visual Vociemail, try to dial your own voicemail on your iPhone (i.e: dial your cell’s phone number from your iPhone itself). Setup the box when prompted.
Now, 99.9% of my iphone’s functions are working perfectly!..
For those who’ve unlocked thei iPhone and have a non-functioning Voicemail button, here’s how to fix it:
1. First, take note of what your voicemail number is with your current provider (for example, in Jordan, ZAIN voicemail number is 1717).
2. Click the phone button in your iPhone.
3. Click the keypad tab.
4. Type the following code: *5005*86*xxxx#
(Where xxxx is your voicemail number, using Jordan Zain example, you would be typing *5005*86*1717#)
5. Hit call.
6. Give it a bit, and the code will be set.
7. Hit the voicemail button, and it will now call your voicemail.
This hint is applicable worldwide 
and to restore your voicemail tap (deactivate/reset voicemail tap in your iphone), just type: *5005*86*#

Well, just type *5005*86*# and it will reset the button.
And regarding the visual voicemail, without the visual voicemail software/server on the carrier side and the feature provisioned to your mobile number you can’t have visual voicemail.

Im not sure how to find out with my voicemail number is here in Detroit, MI. How do I determine this?

@Jeans, Call Customer Service or read the booklet which came with the sms card when you bought it

on my razor i was able to reprogram my phone to call a secondary cell phone in stead of the voice mail bank , this enabled me to have caller id – call waiting – be able to answer the second phone – or call waiting there -and if i still did not answer it would then go to voice mail on second phone – thus no missed calls even when i was dailing out the second phone would ring instead of the first phone going directly to voice mail. … help me with the missing link — how do i change the i phone to call a diffrent number instead of voice messaging — realize im not trying to change the number one key to check voice mail

hi guys…my voicemail number for cable and wireless is *123. I tried the code using *5005*86**123#, which doesn’t work too well…is there another way? or do i forego voicemail. What happens is that the phone registers that I have a voicemail message, but when I dial *123 to check it, the system says I don’t have any messages. How do I fix it?

I AM GETTING “PASSWORD INCORRECT” EVERYTIME I TRY TO DO ANYTHING WITH MY PHONE. HOW DO YOU MAKE IT GO AWAY! I DON’T EVEN HAVE A PASSWORD FOR THIS PHONE! I HATE THIS PIECE OF CRAP!

This messes up my Voicemail it won’t go to it any more it keeps saying your call cannot be completed as dialed please help me

Hi!!
When I try to call myself it’s sound busy. And when the operators says “dial the # of the mail box” I enter my cell phone # and says Its not register”.”, after a few tryes the stuped operators hang ups!! Wahahaha “Sorry Its looks that you had probke s, try again later, Godd Bye” or something like that!! LOL

to access voicemail you have to dial a specific number not your mobile number! to get it, call mobile operator’s customer service
follow the above steps one more time!

hi,
i used your code here to try to get my voicemail button to work. HOWEVER…. now it’s just calling my voicemail and not using the visual voicemail. how do i deactivate your code???
